TUSHAR PANDEY

Tushar Pandey



Tushar Pandey is an Indian film actor and theatre actor, director and a teacher. He is an Inlaks Shivdasani International Scholar with specialisation on Lecoq's pedagogy from London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA) and a graduate of National School of Drama (NSD), India.
Tushar has been practising performance since 2003; and  has been associated with various collaborations and projects in India and abroad; performing, conducting workshops, creating performances from classical styles to site-specific; contemporary, acrobatic and mask based works. In last 10 years, apart from teaching and directing at NSD and Drama School Mumbai, he has been actively involved in conducting sessions and talks for artists across India and has also been involved as performance tutor for various projects.

Tushar has also collaborated with Lyrebird Theatre, London with whom he devised, produced and performed 'SHIPS OF SAND’ and premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2011. Tushar has also presented his work in England , Scotland, Greece, Dubai, China and India.


Tushar's work concerns highly visual movement and text based combinations of fiction and non fiction sources and he is presently devising works to develop performance language and create new expressions that go beyond existing performance boundaries.

Tushar’s film acting debut was in 2015 with ‘BEYOND BLUE’, that premiered at the Marche du (Cannes Film Festival) and he received special mention Best Actor at a festival in Rome, December 2015. Tushar’s performance in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘PINK’ (2016) and Rajshri Films ‘HUM CHAAR’ (2019) was also highly appreciated. He was one of the protagonist in ‘CHHICHHORE’ (2019), one of the most successful film of that year and his character 'MUMMY' has received outstanding reviews from both the critics and the audience. Tushar's debut in OTT was with Prakash Jha's series Aashram.

Tushar is also a Board of Director at The Drama School Mumbai and a guest faculty at the National School of Drama, Delhi and National School of Drama, Sikkim.
